My Hood Rides
« on: April 14, 2010, 12:56:06 PM »
Hi.  I have a couple of Hood Rides.

The first is my completed 1984 VW Jetta GLI.  Yes, it's a VW, scroll down for non VW Hood Rides.

I got the car for FREE!  Then I put a sum total of 450 bucks and hours of work into her.  Here are some pics from along the way.

In the beginning....

Removed / Rebuilt / Refreshed the 1.8 JH engine and 4K tranny.

Prettied up the engine bay with some paint:

The End Result.  On the road now.

My next Hood Ride was a 1982 Porsche 928 I bought for 900 bucks.  Got the dead 4.5 V8 running with some intake and fuel system work.  Did a water pump and timing belt.  Some flat black paint and it was ready to roll:

That westy front end would look very nice on that jetta. i wish i had cool stuff like that hangin around and the time to tinker with it would be even better.
